At a time when greenwashing is growing, the Conou Sustainability Report plays a decisive role.
It is fundamental that CONOU’s activities, inspired by the principles of environmental protection, the fight against climate change and technological innovation, find confirmation and correspondence in virtuous figures.
The Sustainability Report not only describes and analyses CONOU’s economic, social and environmental performance, but it also ensures fairness and transparency through clear compliance to GRI international standards.
The Report is focused on three main areas:
1. Governance and sustainability performance
2. Environmental impact
3. Economical and social impact
Fighting climate change, safeguarding ecosystems and natural resources, saving energy. The Sustainability Report 2021 confirmed CONOU’s winning formula. Despite the pandemic emergency, the Consortium succeeded to come full circle on the circular economy of waste oil thanks to its own organisation and the close cooperation between the different players of the chain.
The 186 thousand tonnes of waste oil collected in 2021, of which more than 98% were re-refined, brought savings of 82 million euros on crude oil imports to Italy, contributing to the survival of 9.45 living species and avoiding emissions for 89.5 thousand tonnes of CO2eq.
These numbers tell more than a thousand words about CONOU’s activities and allow us to look forward to an increasingly sustainable future.
